VIQU has partnered with a public sector organisation to find a proactive and skilled Business Systems Support Specialist to join their team in Widnes. Who You'll Be Supporting & About the Role You'll work closely with the Business Systems Manager, helping to maintain and improve Operational and People Services business systems. From day-to-day issue resolution to assisting with system upgrades and user support, you'll play a vital role in keeping key platforms such as HR, Payroll, and Finance running smoothly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities Monitor and manage business systems incidents, queries, and requests via Service Desk and email
Resolve assigned issues, escalate where needed, and communicate effectively with users
Conduct routine system housekeeping tasks and checks
Carry out system administration, including:
User account creation and deactivation
Managing access and permissions based on role changes
Workflow monitoring and clearance
Running consistency checks and access control reviews
Support system upgrades and projects by:
Assisting with technical and administrative tasks
Supporting users during rollouts
Participating in system testing and implementation
Key Requirements Essential:
Experience in a business-systems support role
Strong understanding of business systems (e.g., HR, Payroll)
Experience with Agresso (Unit4 ERP / Business World) is essential
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Strong communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills
Desirable:
Degree or advanced apprenticeship in IT, Business, or a related field
Experience with IT systems implementation
Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL
