Group Financial Accountant

Are you a proactive and detail-oriented accountant looking for a role where you can make a real impact? Our client, a well-established company in the food production sector, is seeking a Group Financial Accountant to join their finance team and play a pivotal role in supporting strategic financial initiatives across the group.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare accurate and timely group financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP and relevant regulations.
* Manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring all documentation is prepared.
* Compile financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support management in decision-making.
* Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for strategic planning.
* Oversee intercompany accounting and reconciliations to maintain group-wide accuracy.
* Develop and implement financial controls and processes to enhance reporting efficiency.
* Support subsidiary companies with accounting queries and guidance on policies and practices.
* Assist in continuous improvement of accounting systems and processes.
Requirements:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
* Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, UK GAAP, and reporting standards.
* Proven experience in financial reporting, audit management, and financial analysis.
* Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong communication skills to work with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
* Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience in the food or FMCG industry is desirable but not essential.
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, standard office hours
