Offer description

Power the future of Britain's energy network. As the UK accelerates towards Net Zero, National Grid's Strategic Infrastructure portfolio is at the forefront of delivering the major electricity infrastructure Britain needs for the future. To support this, we're looking for an experienced Performance and Reporting Manager to provide clear, trusted and decision‑enabling portfolio insight to help deliver The Great Grid Upgrade. This is a high‑impact leadership role, responsible for shaping how portfolio performance is understood, communicated and acted upon across our business. The role spans formal reporting into Group functions, alongside enabling effective, evidence‑based decision‑making by Strategic Infrastructure Executives. Working within the Portfolio Performance Management Office, you'll own the end‑to‑end approach to portfolio reporting for Strategic Infrastructure. You'll ensure performance information is robust, consistent and genuinely influences outcomes, supporting National Grid's strategic priorities and Net Zero ambitions. Based in Warwick, the role offers hybrid working alongside some UK travel.

Internal portfolio reporting & decision support

* Establish a Community of Practice for training, guidance and knowledge sharing on Performance Reporting.

Reporting frameworks, data & systems

* Own the design and governance of end‑to‑end portfolio reporting, integrating multiple systems and data sources.
* Ensure high data quality, consistency and integrity through clear definitions and disciplined data management.
* Drive automation and system integration to reduce manual effort and improve reporting reliability.
* Align Group and SI reporting requirements, avoiding duplication and conflicting views.

Leadership & capability

* Lead and develop a high‑performing portfolio reporting and analytics team.
* Set clear standards for reporting quality, insight and presentation.
* Build strong, collaborative relationships across Delivery Units, SI functions and Group teams.

You’ll be a collaborative, strategic reporting leader who thrives in complex, connected environments and enjoys influencing outcomes through insight. Confident in the presence of Executives and a strong communicator to deliver clear and concise messaging.

Qualifications

* Proven experience leading an analytical or reporting team.
* Strong understanding of portfolio, programme or project reporting in large or complex environments.
* In‑depth understanding of capital projects and programmes, with a focus on reporting, benchmarking and performance insight.
* Deep knowledge of PPM systems, Earned Value, schedule analysis and financial performance analysis.
* A passion for using data and insight to support effective decision‑making.
* Experience designing, implementing and evolving reporting frameworks.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the credibility to work confidently at senior and Executive level.
* Experience in utilities, infrastructure or construction is desirable but not essential.

Benefits

* A competitive salary between £60,000 - £70,000 – dependent on capability.
* An annual performance bonus of up to 30% of your eligible earnings in the performance year.
* 28 days annual leave plus eight statutory days.
* The option to buy additional or sell holiday days.
* A generous contributory pension scheme – we will double‑match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
* Financial support to help cover the cost of professional membership subscriptions, course fees, books, exam fees and time off for study leave – so long as it’s relevant to your role.
* Access to flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary‑sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving.
* Family care benefits including a back‑up care service for when your usual care arrangements fall through (six paid days each year as standard with the option to purchase further days).
