Role Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with autism, helping them to lead active, socially valued, and fulfilling lives. You will tailor support to each individual’s needs and aspirations, working closely with them and their families.
About Awel Y Mor
Awel Y Mor is a welcoming home for up to three adults aged 18 and over, near Saundersfoot harbour. It features three double bedrooms, communal lounges, a modern kitchen, and a tranquil landscaped garden. Our team supports individuals to balance learning, leisure, and life skills.
Responsibilities
* Provide person-centred care and support to individuals with autism.
* Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
* Encourage and support individuals to participate in community activities and pursue interests (e.g., swimming, bowling).
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals, their families, and other stakeholders.
* Monitor and record progress, ensuring care plans are followed.
* Support individuals in achieving personal goals and developing new skills.
* Promote a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring the well-being of all individuals.
Requirements / What we are looking for
* A compassionate and caring nature with a genuine desire to make a positive impact.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships.
* Resilience and patience, adapting to individual needs.
* Willingness to learn and follow guidance from the team.
* Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication.
* Flexibility to work on a shift basis, including weekends and occasional night shifts.
* Driver’s license is required.
Note: This role involves regulated activity with adults and requires an enhanced DBS with barred list check.
