Shrigley Hall Hotel is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Controller to join our team on a 9-month maternity cover contract. This role is critical in supporting the finance function and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Financial Controller, you will be responsible for performing accounting tasks up to trial balance, including:
* Posting invoices accurately and promptly.
* Managing the purchase ledger, ensuring suppliers are paid on time and reconciled.
* Updating and posting revenue journals.
* Preparing and processing accruals and prepayments.
* Performing bank postings and ensuring timely bank reconciliations.
* Supporting the Financial Controller with month-end processes and reporting requirements.
What We're Looking For:
* Accounting experience is essential, ideally within a hotel or hospitality environment.
* Strong understanding of accounting processes.
* Highly self-motivated, with a methodical and logical approach to work.
* Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
* Proficient in using accounting software and MS Excel.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meeting deadlines in a busy environment.
