Our Lead Infrastructure Engineers are responsible for the overseeing of the entire installation, termination, and testing of our structural cabling system across Ideaworks projects. Travel is a big part of this role so you will need to be happy to travel both within the UK and the EU.
This position requires knowledge of the infrastructure and installation in all aspects of a project, and the ability to liaise with the entire project team, onsite contractors and sometimes clients.
The Role:
* Read, understand, and interpret the schematics, construction drawings and our internal systems.
* Ensuring the delivery of equipment, consumables, and tools for assigned projects.
* Installation and termination of structured cabling systems.
* Overall running of the infrastructure tasks of a project, taking responsibility for the day-to-day running, labour requirements and deadline management.
* Maintain communication with the project team and liaise with site contractors and or clients.
* Maintain accurate up to date information regarding overall on-site progress.
* To be able to set standards on a project and quality control the installation of infrastructure projects.
* Understand the intent of the project and assist any other team to allow their work to progress whilst on the project to help achieve this.
Skills and Experience:
* You will have knowledge and understanding of cable certification for both copper and fibre installations.
* You will have experience and competence in the use of cabling certification tools. You can set up and manage projects using tools like LinkWare Live. You will have complete understanding of certification standards and test limits to be used within fibre optic and copper installations.
* You will need to have a vast experience of running projects and show the ability to run large complex projects.
* A ‘can do’ attitude and willingness to go above and beyond to get a job done right.
* Be efficient, hardworking, and able to stay calm under pressure.
* Commitment to safe working practices and maintaining Health and Safety requirements.
* Exceptional communication skills.
