Highways and Drainage Engineer

This is a great opportunity for an experienced civil engineer (highways and drainage design) to join a successful civils practice in Oxfordshire. Key Responsibilities for this Civil Engineer role include;
* Lead the design of highways and drainage schemes, including adoptable standards (e.g., Section 278, Section 38, Section 104).
* Use AutoCAD, Civil 3d or Causeway Flow to produce detailed drainage and highway calculations, sketches and drawings.
* Prepare specifications and documentation in line with CIRIA guidance, BRE digests, BS EN 752 and relevant design standards.
* Conduct site visits to verify that construction aligns with drawings and design intent.
* Maintain commercial awareness around costing, budgets and quotations.
* Support process improvement in design services and operational efficiency within the team.
Essential Experience & Qualifications for this Civil Engineer role:
* At least 3 years’ UK-based experience in highways and drainage design.
* Experience producing highway and drainage calculations, preparing sketches, drawings and specifications.
* Familiarity with adoptable standards (Section 278, Section 38, Section 104).
* Report writing and site verification experience.
* Strong communication and consultation skills; confident working with clients, contractors and multi-discipline teams.
