The role
Lead Process Engineer
Location: East of England / hybrid working

We are working with our Client, a leading Contractor to help secure a Lead Process Engineer to support clean water projects on a long-term water sector framework in the East of England.
This role would suit an experienced Process Engineer, Senior Process Engineer or Lead Process Engineer with a strong background in clean water, water treatment, pumping stations, dosing packages, hydraulics and control systems.
You will work closely with the project design team to develop efficient, safe and technically robust process engineering solutions in line with client and framework standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead process design for clean water schemes including pumping stations, dosing packages and control systems.
- Produce process calculations, hydraulic assessments, pump calculations, capacity calculations and water quality assessments.
- Prepare datasheets, control philosophies and process engineering technical documentation.
- Support control valve sizing and selection, SCADA integration and commissioning requirements
- Contribute to HAZOP, LOPA, DSEAR and process safety reviews
- Work with multidisciplinary design teams, design leads, modelling teams, control strategy teams, commissioning teams and equipment suppliers.
- Review technical information and support bid analysis for third-party process equipment
- Ensure designs are delivered in line with CDM Regulations, health and safety requirements, technical standards and project specifications.
Ideally, we are looking for degree qualified candidates from water, wastewater, process science, process engineering backgrounds:
- Experience in process engineering within the water sector
- Strong clean water experience, ideally including pumping stations, dosing systems, hydraulics and system control
- Good understanding of process safety, CDM, HAZOP, LOPA and DSEAR
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
- CIWEM membership, professional body membership or MSc in Process Engineering would be highly advantageous but is not essential.
- Direct experience delivering to AMP cycles with water frameworks, joint venture contracts or clean water infrastructure projects would be ideal.
- Experience working in a design and build or multidisciplinary infrastructure delivery environment.
