* To establish and maintain safe and positive relationships with CYP.
* To provide effective support to CYP in response to their needs.
* To collect and collate evidence of the impact of the support provided to CYP.

Proven experience of working with younger people in a range of settings is essential, as well as an ability to communicate and work effectively and safely with children and young people, especially those most at risk.

A minimum two evenings work per week is an expectation of this role.

Job Purpose

You will meet the needs of children and young people (CYP) through the autonomous delivery of high-quality youth work activities across a range of settings in Newmarket, Suffolk; including one to ones, group work, outreach and detached work.

As the post holder, you will work with a high degree of professional autonomy, taking responsibility for planning, prioritising and delivering work independently while remaining accountable to organisational policies, safeguarding requirements and strategic objectives.

A key aspect of the role is building strong partnerships, particularly with Newmarket Charitable Trust, and developing a sustainable model of delivery through the recruitment, development and coordination of volunteers.

About us

4YP believes that all children, young people and young adults ("CYP") should have somewhere safe to go, something positive to do and someone trusted to connect and journey with.

The mission of the charity is to:

* respond with agility to the changing needs of CYP as they occur
* ensure that CYP are confident to transition to the next stages of their lives
* ensure that CYP are enabled to thrive and fulfil their potential.

The strategic priorities are to ensure that CYP have increased opportunities to shape the charity and its services, and to maintain and grow the trusted presence of the charity and its people, notably where CYP identify the greatest needs or gaps in provision.

This is achieved through the delivery of two primary workstreams of counselling and informal education. This post is a core member of the team delivering activities that form part of the informal education programme.
