As the Chief Credit Officer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the entire credit function of our bank. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, you will be an integral member of our executive management team, ensuring we adhere to our approved credit policies while fostering a culture of excellence.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain, modify, and continuously update the bank's lending policies.
* Collaborate with lenders to structure loans that balance risk and profitability.
* Approve loans in line with the Bank's credit approval matrix.
* Manage the consumer loan portfolio effectively.
* Prepare insightful monthly and quarterly management reports for the Loan Committee and Board of Directors.
* Engage with examiners, auditors, and loan reviewers to enhance understanding of our loan portfolio and credit culture.
* Assist lenders in managing delinquent accounts and take charge of accounts over 60 days past due.
* Oversee all OREO properties, including attending sales and managing repairs and marketing.
* Work with legal counsel, title companies, and real estate agents to sell OREO properties efficiently.
* Review appraisals for compliance with FIRREA standards.
* Analyze lending trends and economic activities to inform strategic decisions.
* Support the credit department with annual credit reviews.
* Assist the accounting department in assessing the creditworthiness of investments.
* Participate in the quarterly CECL Committee.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
* Lead a team of approximately 5 direct reports, including credit analysts.
What We’re Looking For:
* Education: College degree preferred in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
* Experience: Minimum of 10 years in bank lending and/or credit areas, with experience as a Senior Credit Officer or Chief Credit Officer.
Physical Requirements:
* Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
* Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
