Overview: A leading Tier One Main Contractor is seeking an experienced Planner to support delivery of the enabling works package for the Accommodation Campus – a critical component in one of the UK’s most significant energy infrastructure projects. The enabling works, valued at approximately £10m, are essential to the successful development of a 2,400-bed residential facility for the incoming workforce constructing the Sizewell C nuclear power station. This is a key opportunity to be involved at the ground level of a high-profile, logistically complex scheme that is helping shape the UK’s energy future. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain the construction programme for all enabling works activities, including archaeology, ecology, earthworks, utilities, access roads, and site preparation. Collaborate with project delivery teams, subcontractors, and external consultants to gather inputs and update the programme regularly. Produce short-term lookahead programmes, milestone schedules, and resource plans aligned with project objectives. Work closely with commercial, design, and procurement teams to ensure integration of programme data. Identify and manage risks, float, and critical path items; provide solutions and mitigation strategies. Support programme inputs for tender packages on future elements of the campus project. Monitor progress against baseline and report on key performance indicators such as earned value, planned vs actual progress, and delay analysis. Participate in project reviews, progress meetings, and interface coordination with the wider Sizewell C delivery team. Ensure all planning and logistics activities align with nuclear site security, safety, and environmental regulations. Key Requirements: Demonstrable experience in a Planning role on Construction, or enabling works projects, preferably for a Tier One Main Contractor. Proficient in Primavera P6 (essential); knowledge of Asta Powerproject advantageous. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and logistics for multi-phase sites. Familiarity with early works scopes including ecology, archaeology, groundworks, and temporary infrastructure. Strong communication and reporting skills, with the ability to present data clearly to internal and external stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary delivery environment. Experience working in high-security or regulated environments such as nuclear, defence, or complex infrastructure is desirable. Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline. Desirable: Previous experience on nuclear-licensed or nationally significant infrastructure projects. Knowledge of NEC contracts and planning compliance within highly regulated frameworks. CSCS card and relevant safety qualifications.
