An exciting new Consultant opportunity to join the Child Health Team in Cornwall as the Named Doctor for Children in Care
and work clinically as a Community Paediatrician.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the Named Doctor for Children in Care (Looked After Children) on behalf of RCHT and work clinically within the Community Paediatric Team.
* Promote good professional practice, provide advice and expertise to colleagues, and ensure robust arrangements are in place in partnership with the Named Nurse for Safeguarding and Associate Director Safeguarding & Statutory Services.
* Undertake specialist medical assessment, investigation and clinical management of children with neurodevelopmental problems through designated clinics; contribute to the multidisciplinary assessment process.
* Take part in the daytime non‑CSA child protection rota both directly and in a supervisory role.
* Work collaboratively within RCHT and with multi‑disciplinary partners across the county.
Qualifications / Competence
* Qualified Consultant Community Paediatrician with relevant NHS registration.
* Experience working with children in care or a strong understanding of the needs of looked‑after children.
* Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and deliver evidence‑based care.
* Good communication and safeguarding awareness.
