Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Radiology department at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for a Radiology booking clerk.

A Temporary post is available to join our team, due to an expansion of the service,

The role will incorporate a 7-day working week.

This post is part of the collaborative initiative of the Community Diagnostic Hub program. Although the successful candidate will be employed by South Tees Foundation Trust (STHFT), there may be an expectation of collaborative working across the Tees Valley in the future should the need be required, however this role is primarily for STHFT radiology services, and the successful candidate will join the rota for STHFT. Successful candidates will be an employee of South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and managed as per the governance arrangements currently in place for Radiology and the organisation'.

Main duties of the job

Main duties will include the processing and appointing of outpatient and Inpatient referrals.

You must have excellent verbal communication skills and deal with telephone queries in a calm professional manner.

Knowledge and skills

Essential criteria

1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
2. Understanding of clerical processes
3. Efficient and accurate word processing skills

Desirable criteria

4. Experience in a clinical setting Knowledge of hospital patient administration system
5. Knowledge of medical terminology

Qualifications

6. GCSEs A-C or equivalent qualification or experience
7. NVQ 2 in Business Administration or equivalent experience.

8. Knowledge of Office and Outlook, including word, excel and powerpoint, e-mail and internet
9. Must have the ability to prioritise, work under pressure and work well as part of a team

Disclosure and Barring Checks (DBS)
