As a Safety by Design Specialist at Foster + Partners, you will play a key role in embedding best-practice health and safety principles into world-class architecture and engineering projects. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will support UK and international studios in meeting regulatory requirements, managing design-related risks and cultivating a culture of safe, informed and responsible design across the practice.

* Support studio teams in delivering the Principal Designer role under CDM and Building Safety Act requirements.
* Advise project teams and clients on health and safety design risk management across the project lifecycle.
* Review design information, risk assessments and project compliance on UK and international projects.
* Assist in developing guidance, tools and best practice standards for Safety by Design.
* Contribute to training, research and continuous improvement within the Technical Design Group.
What you'll bring to the studio:
* Degree level qualification in architecture, architectural technology or engineering.
* Experience in design and construction methodologies, ideally within architectural or engineering contexts.
* Proven skills delivering CDM or health and safety consultancy services.
* Strong communication skills with a pragmatic, persuasive and collaborative approach.
* Excellent organisation, initiative and the ability to manage workloads and deadlines effectively.
Qualifications and skills
* Proficiency in relevant design tools (including Autodesk software).
* Ability to produce, review and interpret design-related health and safety documentation.
* Strong attention to detail and confidence working under pressure.
* Ability to manage confidential information and build strong internal and external relationships.
* Desirable: NEBOSH Construction Certificate or membership/association with bodies such as ARB, RIBA, ICE, APS or IOSH.
