An established Top 10 advisory firm is looking for an experienced Senior Manager to join its innovation incentives team in London or Bristol. This position focuses on leading client assignments, managing a portfolio of claims, developing team capability, and contributing to continued growth in a specialist tax area.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee a portfolio of R&D tax relief engagements from planning through submission.
Review business activities and financial records to determine eligible expenditure and qualifying projects.
Lead client discussions, gather technical information, and present recommendations clearly.
Supervise and coach junior team members, supporting technical learning and career progression.
Improve internal workflows, controls, and delivery processes.
Keep up to date with legislative changes and revenue authority guidance.
Manage budgets, timelines, and profitability across assignments.
Identify opportunities for additional services and support new client wins.
Candidate Profile
Background in tax incentives, engineering, science, or a related technical discipline.
Strong experience preparing claims for both SMEs and larger businesses.
Comfortable handling enquiries and technical discussions with tax authorities.
Proven people management and client relationship skills.
Strong analytical capability and attention to detail.
Commercial mindset with interest in business development.
