Overview
A very exciting opportunity has arisen for a specialist physiotherapist to work within the Orthopaedic therapy team at Airedale General Hospital. The post holder will lead in the advanced assessment and treatment of a wide range of Orthopaedic patients within the speciality who may have complex presentations. The post holder will work across both Trauma and elective Orthopaedics. There will also be some community outreach work within this role as part of our discharge to assess models.
Responsibilities
* As a band 6 Physiotherapist, consolidate and develop knowledge and skills while gaining experience in a variety of settings, and contribute to clinical, leadership and managerial activities.
* Develop supervision of junior Physiotherapists, students and therapy assistants.
* Undertake a supporting role to the Team Leader: managing, planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the therapy services provided to trauma and elective Orthopaedic patients on the acute wards.
* Provide assessment, treatment and rehabilitation to facilitate safe and timely hospital discharges.
* Act as a source of expertise and provide an advisory service to other AGH therapists and MDT members in the management of Orthopaedic patients.
* Lead in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients with complex and chronic presentations, determine clinical diagnoses and required therapy, and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
* Provide expert training and education for all staff grades and other health professionals in the therapeutic management of orthopaedic patients.
* Deputise for the Team Leader when requested.
* Provide effective student training and development.
