Applications are invited for the above post on a 12-month fixed term contract, commencing on 5th August 2026 and ending on 3rd August 2027. Candidates should ideally be within 6 months of gaining CCT at the time of appointment.
This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside three dedicated specialist shoulder Consultants within a team of 20 Orthopaedic Consultants. The work includes not only a substantial amount of arthroscopic shoulder surgery, but also a wide exposure to all major shoulder interventions, and the full range of shoulder trauma.
Main duties of the job
The post is aimed at a senior trainee who has completed basic general orthopaedic training and is seeking to specialise in shoulder surgery. The fellowship will expose the post holder to a range of shoulder trauma and elective operating procedures with the opportunity to work alongside 3 established, experienced, and fellowship trained Orthopaedic Shoulder Consultants. The post will involve undertaking elective/trauma operating theatres, elective clinics, fracture clinics, and ward round duties.

If successful, this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary.
In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.
