Job Overview
The post holder will assist in the overall delivery of care to patients on the Ward. Working with adults of working age in a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). They will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. The post holder will always comply with the NMC Code of Conduct, relevant legislation, policies and procedures. They will be provided with training to assess those referred to the service.
Shift Schedule
* Saturday (midnight to midnight) and any weekday after 8pm and before 6am
* All time on Sundays and Public Holidays (midnight to midnight)

Responsibilities
* work as part of the multidisciplinary team
* act as a role of primary nurse
* carry out assessments following referral to PICU
* Contribute to and ensure a therapeutic and safe environment is maintained whilst on duty for patients, staff and visitors
* Act as shift co-ordinator, providing a consistent approach to the management of the nursing team during the shift
* Assess, plan, prioritise, implement and evaluate nursing interventions to meet patient needs
