About the Team & Role
Pearson was awarded the Test Operation Service (TOpS) contract in April 2024, with the first test cycle scheduled for 2025/2026. Based in Rotherham, the TOpS Secure Print planning and distribution manager will oversee the setup of the project, ensuring all deliverables are met within tight deadlines. You will manage the end-to-end process for manufacturing and dispatching question papers and examination materials under secure conditions, adhering to schedules.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing the fulfillment & distribution of secure examination materials.
* Creating and maintaining print and distribution schedules for suppliers.
* Liaising with distributors, team managers, couriers, project managers, and centers to ensure timely deliveries.
* Coordinating with customs and authorities regarding undelivered consignments.
* Reporting security issues and following procedures to mitigate risks.
* Supporting integration of new business acquisitions into fulfillment & distribution processes.
* Managing the setup of new qualifications, including scheduling and system development.
* Overseeing courier relationships to meet SLAs.
* Identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising security or quality.
* Communicating ongoing issues to customer service teams.
* Developing and improving systems and procedures within the secure production and dispatch area.
* Ensuring compliance with QMS procedures and quality standards.
* Checking invoice accuracy and processing within agreed timelines.
* Supporting scanning operations during quieter periods.
Our Secure Print Team handles over 4,000 printed items annually, including more than 9 million question papers.
About You:
You are customer-focused, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing high-volume logistics or distribution functions with tight SLAs. You can communicate clearly, analyze complex data, manage conflicts diplomatically, and are proficient in MS Access, Word, and Excel. Flexibility in work hours is required.
Education, Qualifications & Experience:
* Experience in operational activities within high-pressure environments.
* Team or project management experience, including performance management.
* Strategic planning and business improvement implementation experience.
* Leading complex activities across departments.
* Experience with procedures and contingency planning.
* Project management skills.
