Maintenance Tyre & Glass Controller
Are you working in a fast-fit centre, garage or vehicle service bay? Ready to swap the overalls for an office role, but still want to stay close to what you know?

We are offering the perfect next step for a Maintenance Controller to join our Technical Services team. You'll be responsible for in-life servicing and repairs for our maintained vehicles (car & van), when replacement tyres and glass is required. This is a fast-paced but rewarding role for a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic looking to apply their skills outside of the workshop.
Your Role and Impact
You'll join a friendly team that delivers personal and high-quality experiences that are easy for our customers. The role involves a full spectrum of varied responsibilities including but not limited to:
* Using your knowledge and skills as a vehicle technician / mechanic to authorise all servicing and maintenance repairs, ensuring customers vehicles are safe and legal, whilst protecting our SMR budget
* Liaising with key suppliers to replace tyres and glass for customers whilst ensuring we fit the correct volumes of different tyre brands to fulfil our contractual targets
* Highlighting repairs that are not covered by our contract and explaining to customers why repairs need to be recharged and seeking authority
* Handling merchantability claims and liaising between customers and manufacturers to agree a fair solution.
* Reviewing the vehicle authority request and researching if any other options for the repair are viable. Moving the vehicle to an alternative repairer to reduce costs and downtime or to arrange an alternative parts supply
* Communicate with Zenith's third-party suppliers, to ensure a full understanding is captured of the reason that each tyre and windscreen replacement requested.
* Ensure our drivers are back mobile as quickly and efficiently as possible.
What We're Looking For
* Vehicle maintenance / Mechanical repair experience (tyres or glass knowledge is a real plus)
* Full Technical Qualifications – i.e. City & Guilds 381 or similar
* Strong investigative ability with attention to detail
* Enjoys speaking to people – you'll be on the phone and email daily.
* Can juggle tasks and stay calm under pressure.
* Pays close attention to detail – you'll be spotting issues others might miss.
* Is motivated, reliable, and a real team player.
