Overview

Executive Director of Schools — Inverness Campus. Full time, 1.0 FTE.
Schedule: 40 hours per week, 260 work days per year. Primary location: Inverness Campus.


Job Description

Oversees the organization and operation of an effective K-12 education program. Ensures accurate and timely dissemination of information. Assures school leadership is prepared with differentiated professional development and ongoing coaching aligned to the Strategic Plan. Works in collaboration with other Central Office departments to personalize and differentiate support for each building. Develops and promotes excellent relationships among various community and school clientele.


Responsibilities

* Maintain good public relations with parents, businesses, and community groups to provide information and receive feedback; represent schools at District-level functions as needed.
* Implement effective K-12 instructional, assessment and curricular practices responding to student needs and district direction; incorporate valid innovations in education.
* Provide leadership, support and coordination of a collaborative team (including other district departments) to ensure district mission, priorities and goals are student-focused and results-oriented.
* Direct principal selection and evaluation, mentor potential leaders, and identify candidates for promotion.
* Promote district direction and empower others to decide and act in support of district values and priorities.
* Oversee overall operations of school sites, including site-based budget design/allocation and purchase of instructional supplies and equipment; coordinate capital reserve processes.
* Plan and implement human resources activities: hires, directs, mentors, disciplines, terminates; staffing; professional development; evaluations.
* Develop and maintain communications, including complaint management, among students, community, faculty and administration to support student interests.
* Work with legal staff on personnel and related matters as appropriate.
* Respond immediately to emergency/crisis situations and serve as a district representative as needed.
* Utilize resources to develop and maintain effective K-12 instructional and co-curricular programs.
* Build partnerships with principals, parents, businesses and community stakeholders to support district programs.
* Support and provide professional development to principals and school staff; initiate actions to support principals and schools.
* In collaboration with Central Office departments, ensure schools meet state accreditation, accountability and improvement plan requirements; monitor and adjust practices for continuous improvement.


Qualifications & Experience

* Three (3) years of administrative experience, including a minimum of three (3) years of teaching. Principal experience required.
* Hold Type D Principal/Administrators License - Colorado Department of Education.
* Master's Degree (Required).


Skills & Competencies

* Ability to manage a department budget; advanced knowledge of adult learning strategies and leadership.
* Ability to work with diverse students and staff; strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
* Ability to facilitate, problem-solve, and manage conflict; collaborative stakeholder engagement.
* Knowledge of K-12 curriculum, instruction, assessment practices; ability to monitor and evaluate these practices.
* Knowledge of district policies, board and superintendent policies, and the district strategic plan.


Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $132,188.69 to $206,561.10 annual full salary; full benefits include health, vision, dental, HSA/FSA options, life and disability insurance, EAP, retirement plan options (401(k), 403(b), 457).
