Senior Front-End Developer

As a result of our expansion plans, and our continued ongoing success, we are seeking a dynamic Senior Front-End Developer to be based at our Head Office in Plymouth or London Great Portland Street Office.
About the Role:
This role is hands-on and focused on building large-scale, customer-facing features within multiple websites within our multichannel team. You will mentor other developers, support front-end architecture and contribute to performance, accessibility, and personalisation improvements across multiple e-commerce brands.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and optimise features for CDS Superstores websites
2. Build responsive UI components using HTML, SCSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React & PHP
3. Contribute to kiosk-based applications written in TypeScript
4. Maintain large codebases with scalable front-end patterns
5. Improve performance, accessibility and Core Web Vitals
6. Collaborate with UX, QA, product owners and cross-functional squads
7. Configure and debug Google Tag Manager
8. Support A/B tests, CRO and personalisation initiatives (Dynamic Yield desirable)
9. Provide light mentoring and guidance to one front-end developer
10. Input into architectural discussion and front-end standards

12. Is proactive in removing blockers and solving technical issues
13. Has an interest in AI-assisted development workflows
14. Mentors and supports peers constructively
15. Takes ownership of customer impact and quality
Technical Requirements:
Core Requirements:
16. 5+ years of commercial front-end development experience
17. HTML, SCSS, JavaScript, jQuery, TypeScript, React, PHP
18. Node.js / npm / webpack / build tools
19. Google Tag Manager + GA4 events
20. Comfortable working in large, enterprise codebases
21. Experience in B2C e-commerce, ideally omni-channel retail
Preferred Experience:
22. Dynamic Yield or other personalisation tools
23. Payment integrations (e.g. Stripe/Worldpay)
24. Cypress / Storybook
25. SAP Commerce Cloud (Accelerator) front-end experience
