Business Development Manager
Location: London-hybrid (remote-friendly; in-person meetings/events in London 2–4 days/month)
Contract Type: Freelance or Fixed-Term Contract (Independent Contractor)

Pay: base £35k + uncapped commission with OTE £85–100k
Overview:
Dragonfly is looking for a frontline hunter — someone whose only job is to generate and qualify leads, not close deals. You'll be the engine that feeds the pipeline: creating conversations, booking meetings, and uncovering opportunities that our closers (the Founder and Client Partnerships Director) will convert.
This is a role for a self-starter who gets a buzz from cracking into new accounts, working smart with the latest sales tools, and hitting ambitious activity targets. On-target earnings are £85–100k+ — with no cap for over-performers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Hunt & Qualify:
* Generate 5–6 qualified meetings per week with senior decision-makers.
* Use email, LinkedIn, calls, and smart sequencing to break through.
* Rigorously qualify prospects before handing them over to closers.
* Re-Engage & Revive:
* Reconnect with past prospects and former clients; run win-back campaigns.
* Reactivate dormant leads and ensure no opportunity is left on the table.
* Build the Engine:
* Own the outbound process: lists, sequences, reporting.
* Use tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Clay, Apollo, and a CRM to keep everything sharp.
* Leverage AI to speed up research, messaging, and pipeline organisation.
* Networking & Partnerships:
* Attend relevant London events and communities.
* Spot partnership and referral opportunities that feed the funnel.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Proven experience booking 4–6+ qualified B2B meetings per week.
* A hunter's mindset: persistent, resourceful, and motivated by results.
* Strong written and verbal communication — your outreach gets replies.
* Experience with outbound prospecting tools (CRM + email/LinkedIn automation).
* Confidence networking in person as well as online.
* Bonus: exposure to public-sector frameworks or tendering processes.
Success Looks Like (90 Days):
* CRM segmented with live re-engagement cadences running.
* Consistent 5–6 qualified meetings per week booked and delivered.
* £250k+ qualified pipeline generated from outbound activity.
Compensation:
* Retainer + performance-based commission.
* OTE £100k+ with no upper limit for overachievement.
* Paid trial project to start, to ensure fit on both sides.
