We are working on behalf of a Secondary Alternative Provision in Burnley to recruit a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with experience working in education or care settings, particularly with young people who face challenges accessing mainstream education. The successful candidate will support teaching staff in delivering tailored interventions and help pupils make progress both academically and personally.
Role Overview:
As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Work under the guidance of teaching staff or senior colleagues, and occasionally support classes in the absence of the teacher.
* Deliver planned learning activities to individuals or small groups, helping pupils to engage and achieve progress.
* Support pupils in overcoming barriers to learning, including managing behaviour, improving communication skills, developing independence and enhancing social skills.
* Contribute to monitoring the impact of interventions and pupil progress, feeding back to teaching staff and relevant professionals.
* Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Key Requirements:
* Experience working with or caring for children of secondary school age.
* Experience supporting children in an educational or alternative provision setting.
* Ability to build positive relationships with young people and respond calmly and professionally in challenging situations.
* A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine desire to support pupils with additional needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
