Are you a hands-on hospitality leader with a proven track record of running a café, bar, or restaurant and driving business growth? Our client, a busy livery and events venue just outside Banchory, is looking for a commercially minded Café Manager to lead their on-site café and take it to the next level.
This isn’t just about serving great food—it’s about running a profitable, well-oiled operation and making strategic decisions that grow the business.
About the Role
The café is open 7 days a week, serving breakfast and lunch daily, with full catering for event weekends. You will have autonomy to manage all aspects of the business, from staff and operations to finances and commercial growth.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead, motivate, and develop the café team to deliver exceptional service

Plan staff rotas efficiently, managing labour costs while maintaining service standards
*
Drive sales, grow footfall, and maximise café profitability
*
Manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and control costs
*
Oversee stock, ordering, purchase orders, and supplier relationships
*
Ensure all systems—POS, reporting, ordering, and cost tracking—run smoothly
*
Support menu planning and introduce initiatives to increase sales and repeat business
*
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and presentation
*
Prepare for and manage busy event weekends with confidence
What We’re Looking For

Proven experience managing a café, restaurant, or bar with P&L responsibility
*
Strong commercial mindset with experience growing sales and driving business performance
*
Hands-on experience with budgeting, ordering, POs, stock management, and operational systems
*
Excellent leadership, organisational, and people management skills
*
Ability to work independently, make confident operational and financial decisions
*
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
*
Passion for high-quality food, customer experience, and building a thriving business
*
Full UK driving licence (essential due to rural location)
