Weekend Personal Assistant
Hours: Up to 5 hours per week (weekends)
We're looking for a confident, compassionate Personal Assistant to support a 13-year-old boy in Leven who lives with Autism, ADHD, and a learning disability.
He’s energetic, honest, and thrives on movement — currently into weightlifting and long walks — but he also needs someone who can meet him where he’s at emotionally. He may express frustration or upset, and can be verbally challenging when feeling overwhelmed, so a calm, positive presence and a thick skin are essential.
You’ll build trust by being steady, upbeat, and consistent, offering reassurance and space when needed. He connects best with people who are calm, assertive, and encouraging.
The family has two friendly dogs, so you must be comfortable around animals and aware that the client should not be left alone with them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer emotional and behavioural support
- Support participation in activities and fitness routines
- Provide personal care as needed
- Maintain safe and positive engagement throughout
Who we’re looking for:
- Someone with experience in care and personal support
- Calm under pressure, with a warm but firm approach
- Member of the PVG Scheme (or willing to join)
- Flexible, reliable, and with a sense of humour
- Comfortable around dogs
