Interim Head of Surgical Services

We are supporting an independent hospital seeking an Interim Head of Surgical Services to provide operational and clinical leadership across theatres, recovery and endoscopy.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and high quality surgical services while working closely with consultants and senior clinical leadership. The hospital delivers a broad range of elective procedures within a well established and high performing surgical environment.
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing operational leadership across theatre, recovery and endoscopy services
• Driving theatre utilisation, efficiency and service performance
• Ensuring compliance with clinical governance, safety and regulatory standards
• Leading and supporting multidisciplinary theatre teams
• Working closely with consultants to support service delivery and growth
• Managing staffing, workforce planning and operational performance
• Supporting quality improvement and service development initiatives
Candidate profile:
• Current or recent Head of Surgical Services, Head of Theatres, or Theatre Manager
• Strong operational leadership experience within an acute hospital environment
• Independent sector experience highly desirable
• Proven ability to lead theatre teams and manage service performance
• Strong understanding of governance, patient safety and regulatory requirements
• Confident working autonomously within a senior leadership team
This is an interim opportunity suited to an experienced theatre leader able to provide immediate operational impact.
Day rate dependent on experience.
