What sort of work?

Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join our Residential Property team in our Exeter office. This will include:

* Assisting a Senior Associate, including preparing legal reports from antecedent documents and typing your own correspondence, communicating with clients and third parties throughout.
* Providing efficient and effective support, aiming to meet all targets in respect of exchange and completion deadlines.
* Attending meetings with clients where necessary and updating clients and third parties on all active matters whenever required.
* Maintaining effective communication with colleagues across the firm, as required.
* Maintaining time recording on client matters on a daily basis in accordance with the firm’s procedures.
* Managing files diligently, reviewing each regularly.
* Complying with internal policies, procedures, ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
* Ensuring confidentiality and security of all firm and client documentation and information.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for somebody who will understand our values and thrive in our culture. The role is based from our Exeter office and the ideal candidate will have:

* Previous experience of working within residential conveyancing.
* Experience using a case management system.
* The ability to run own files with minimal supervision.
* Experience working in a process‑driven environment, meeting deadlines and providing excellent client service to both external and internal clients.
* Excellent organisational skills, demonstrable multi‑tasking and an ability to juggle competing priorities and work well under pressure.
* Excellent IT skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.


Other skills required:

* Excellent interpersonal skills; effective communication at all levels (written and verbal).
* A commercial, pro‑active ‘can‑do’ and professional approach to work.
* Flexibility, successfully adapting to changing demands and conditions.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* A team player who interacts well with others in a sensitive and effective way.
* Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and the use of discretion.
* Self‑motivated, committed to working towards goals with strong enthusiasm and career commitment.
* Self‑confidence, initiative and innovative thinking.
