Morson Talent is recruiting Mechanical Assembly Technicians for a 6-month contract with Marshall Land Systems in Cambridge. The role supports high-profile military projects, producing vehicles and containers with a focus on teamwork and quality.
Base Pay Range
Rates:
UMBRELLA: £27.09 per hour
Candidate Backgrounds
* Sheet metal workers / fabricators
* Joiners
* Specialist vehicle builders with commercial vehicle installation experience
Duties
* Manufacture, assemble, and build specialist projects using engineering drawings and design data.
* Install rivets with pneumatic rivet guns.
* Apply silicone and sealants with proper preparation methods.
* Operate battery and electric powered drill guns.
* Assemble and join different panels and parts together.
* Torque, torque‑mark, and record procedures, completing job records.
* Fettle using approved and calibrated tools.
* Inspect and record before passing to next stage.
* Treat aluminium or steel panels with chemicals such as sicoseal.
* Drill, ream, counter‑sink aluminium, steel, wood, and PVC plastic components.
Qualifications
* Mechanical, fitting or joining experience.
* Previous automotive or heavy industry experience highly desirable.
* Experience in vehicle body building, mechanical fitting or equivalent trade.
* Understanding of assembly processes and techniques.
* Competent workshop skills and teamwork communication.
* Familiar with a workshop environment and production methods.
* Ability to read engineering drawings and associated design data.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Ideal if holding a City and Guilds apprenticeship in vehicle body building, mechanical fitting, manufacturing or similar qualification.
* Understanding of appraisals/PDRs.
* Semi‑skilled candidates with manufacturing/production experience will be considered.
