Role Overview As a Database Administrator Engineer, you'll be responsible for the design, deployment, and ongoing optimisation of both development and production database environments in the cloud. You'll play a key role in ensuring reliability, security, and scalability across mission-critical systems using modern SecDevOps and CloudOps practices. Key Responsibilities Design and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient database solutions in a cloud-native environment Implement and manage robust database backup and recovery processes Monitor, analyse, and optimise database performance across multiple platforms Design and enforce database architecture standards, indexing strategies, and schema best practices Apply security protocols including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability patching Collaborate across engineering, architecture, and security teams to align infrastructure with broader goals Automate infrastructure processes using scripting and CI/CD tools Required Skills & Experience Experience managing large-scale cloud infrastructure, primarily within Azure Solid proficiency in SQL and major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) Strong background in database administration in a cloud-first or hybrid environment Competent with both Windows and Linux command-line operations Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Ideal Candidate You're a passionate technologist who enjoys problem-solving, thrives in fast-paced environments, and wants to be part of a cutting-edge IT transformation.
