The Windsor Forest Colleges Group is looking for Head of IT infrastructure and security to join the team on a full-time basis. please note the role is primarily based at Langley however travel across all sites is required BCA, Langley, Strode's, and Windsor.
JobPurpose
As a Head of Department for IT Infrastructure and Security, you will be required to Lead the Group’s IT team in implementing and developing the College’s IT infrastructure strategy; and providing a robust network and innovative infrastructure to College campuses, ensuring departments have modern, innovative and effective IT systems. To Lead on network security, the deployment of hardware and software across our four Colleges, and day to day management of the IT Services team leads. This is a cross-college role with a focus on both customer service and technical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, manage and use expertise to deliver a highly robust, reliable and secure IT infrastructure (computing and communications) to the College campuses, to ensure a safe, secure and reliable IT service provision within and outside the College, optimising performance and ensuring availability at all times.
* Provide IT infrastructure management, administration and high level problem solving/troubleshooting.
* Keep up to date with technology changes and trends in order to “future proof” the IT infrastructure and service provision.
* security systems, methods and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with current legislation (including CE/CE+), College policy and best.
* Responsible for all aspects of copyright and to ensure the College has the relevant licences associated with this area such as ERA, MPLC, PRS, TV Licence etc. Also to provide training to staff in this area, as required.
* Manage the College’s migration of key infrastructure to Azure and Google Cloud.
* To provide an on-call triage service to resolve crises or emergency problems related to IT out of hours, either by visiting site when required, or from home using a phone or computer where possible.
* Lead and manage the Information Technology Department. Provide support to the College’s major information systems through its IT infrastructure and services to meet current and future user requirements (including students and staff, academic and support).
* Be responsible for the management, recruitment, training, development and appraisal of IT staff and temporary contractor staff, ensuring compliance with relevant College policies and procedures. Lead, manage and develop an effective team, in association with others as necessary, through the recruitment, training, appraisal and development of staff.
* Manage IT revenue and capital budgets within the requirements of the College’s Financial Regulations, ensuring value for money procurement, quality assurance and legal compliance in all areas of responsibility.
* Analyse and report on the key areas of responsibility, performing capacity, performance, compliance and value for money checks as required.
The post may be based at one of the current College campuses, but the duties of the job may require the post holder to work at any College campus or other location connected with the work of the College. Travel between the college’s main campuses will form a requisite part of this post.
