About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Customer Support Engineer to join our team. You will work with customers on a variety of technical support issues and collaborate with the Technical Operations team that runs our global distributed network. This position offers the opportunity to learn the inner workings of Cloudflare’s technology and a deeper understanding of internet technologies.

Responsibilities

Work directly with customers to troubleshoot technical problems across DNS, networking, identity and access management, VPNs, multi‑factor authentication, and web server issues. Resolve tickets efficiently through various support channels, always prioritizing customer experience. Collaborate with the Technical Operations team to maintain the stability and reliability of our global network.


Qualifications

* Experience working as part of a team in a customer‑facing role.
* Experience solving DNS and other networking‑related problems.
* Solid understanding of how the Internet works.
* Experience with Identity and Access Management protocols (SSO, SAML, OAuth, Federation, SCIM, etc.).
* Experience supporting and troubleshooting multi‑factor mechanisms (TOTP, SMS, FIDO, U2F, WebAuth, EMAIL, Push MFA, etc.).
* Experience configuring and troubleshooting VPNs.
* Proven track record of resolving tickets and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
* Comfortable communicating through various support channels.
* Self‑starter, proactive, continually expanding skill‑set.


Bonus Points

* Fluent in German, Japanese, French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Mandarin.
* Familiarity with Cloudflare Zero Trust products (Zero Trust / Access / Gateway / Tunnel, WARP client) and having a site actively using our platform.
* Solid grasp of problem‑solving with command‑line tools (dig, traceroute, curl, tcpdump).
* Familiarity with Apache, Nginx, IIS, and other web servers.
* Commitment to deeper knowledge of Zero Trust, Secure Web Gateway policies, endpoint protections, and security best practices.
* Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL or other database servers.
