CNC Machinist
Salary Range: £35,000 - £40,000 Benefits
Hours & Shift Patterns: Day shift only
Rotating Shifts: Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 4:30pm & Friday 7:30 – 12:00 – Flexible hours to suit
Orion are currently working with an innovative manufacturing company based in the heart of Birmingham who are looking for a highly experienced CNC Machinist who can set, operate and programme to join the team. CNC Machinist Duties:
Setting, operating and milling
Operating Matsuura vertical machinery
Loading and unloading the Matsuura machine
Working with CADCAM software to develop or improve tooling
Experience with large batch sizes
Complete tooling changes
Pre-set tooling
Maintenance of CNC machinery
Working closely with Production team to assist with new product development
Quotations
CNC Machinist Required Experience:
Setting, operating and milling experience
Minimum 5 years (apprenticeship or hands-on experience)
Candidates with 8 years’ experience don’t need to be apprentice trained
Must have experience in horizontal turning(not vertical boring)
Loading and unloading the Matsuura machine
Must have experience working with CADCAM software to develop or improve tooling
Experience with large batch sizes
Competent in tooling changes
Maintenance of CNC machinery
Machines:4 axis Matsuura horizontal machines
Software: FANUC (G-code/M-code understanding required)
Programming CNC machinery, editing speeds etc..
Experience with NPI (New Product Introduction)
Product quotation
Must be comfortable working on CADCAM software
Basic inspection skills (micrometers, verniers) required
Familiarity with setting sheets and tooling documentation in transition
