Special Needs Teaching / Learning Support Assistant - Mainstream Primary School

Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full Time
Are you a passionate, empathetic, and experienced Teaching Assistant looking to support pupils with additional needs in a mainstream primary school setting?
We are currently recruiting for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant (SEN TA / LSA) to join a vibrant and inclusive mainstream primary school from September 2025. This is a full-time role, working closely with a Class Teacher and SENDCo to support pupils who require personalised learning and emotional support.
About the Role:
* Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small group interventions.
* Adapting learning activities to meet the individual needs of pupils.
* Promoting inclusion and supporting the emotional wellbeing of pupils with additional needs.
* Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals.
* Contributing to EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) reviews and documentation.
Experience of Supporting One or More of the Following Needs Would Be Beneficial:
* ASD - Autism Spectrum Disorder
* ADHD - Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
* SEMH - Social, Emotional and Mental Health
* MLD - Moderate Learning Difficulties
* SLD - Severe Learning Difficulties
* SpLD - Specific Learning Difficulties (e.g., dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia)
* PDA - Pathological Demand Avoidance
* PMLD - Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties
* VI - Visual Impairment
* HI - Hearing Impairment
* GDD - Global Developmental Delay
* ODD - Oppositional Defiant Disorder
* Tourette Syndrome
* Down Syndrome
* SLCN - Speech, Language and Communication Needs
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Have experience supporting children with special educational needs in a school, nursery, or care environment.
* Be patient, nurturing, and able to adapt to individual learning needs.
* Understand the importance of inclusive and child-centred education.
* Be proactive and confident working independently and as part of a team.
* Hold a relevant qualification or have equivalent experience (desirable but not essential).
