Job Title: Youth Justice Officer
🕒 Hours: Full-Time📅 Contract: Ongoing
💷 Pay: £20.67 PAYE / £25.75 Umbrella
About the Role:
We are currently recruiting for a committed and experienced Youth Justice Officer to join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary Youth Offending Team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with children and young people in the community and custody who present a range of complex needs and behaviours.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of children and young people subject to pre-court disposals, statutory court orders and bail packages.
Conduct holistic assessments identifying risks, protective factors and root causes of offending.
Design and deliver bespoke interventions using one-to-one and group approaches to support desistance.
Work closely with families, carers, and partner agencies using trauma-informed and restorative practices.
Prepare high-quality Pre-Sentence Reports and represent the service in court settings.
Support volunteer panels, develop parenting interventions, and carry out home visits.
Maintain accurate records, monitor effectiveness of interventions, and adhere to data protection and safeguarding policies.
Contribute to service development and induction of new staff.Requirements:
✅ Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Social Work, Probation, Youth Justice).
✅ Extensive experience working with young people in a youth justice or similar setting.
✅ Excellent communication, assessment and report-writing skills.
✅ Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively across multi-agency settings.
✅ Commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
✅ Enhanced DBS and full UK driving licence.
