Known for delivering impactful transformation projects to some of the UK’s most recognisable brands, this organisation is searching for a talented architect to lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance systems.
The Role
This role will see the successful candidate take a technical leadership position, defining architectural standards, guiding development teams, and contributing to the creation of secure, resilient, and efficient backend solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
Architecting and designing scalable, secure backend systems using Python.
Defining coding standards and best practices for development teams.
Leading technical discussions, code reviews, and mentoring sessions.
Collaborating with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and cross-functional teams.
Ensuring alignment with architectural principles and agile methodologies.
Advising on the selection of appropriate frameworks, tools, and platforms.
Maintaining system reliability, performance, and security.
Participating in estimation, planning, and risk management processes.
Staying informed on emerging technologies and industry trends.
Candidate Profile
Essential skills & experience:
Strong background in software development with deep Python expertise.
Proficiency in frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
Solid understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Familiarity with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of design patterns, OOP principles, and clean code practices.
Experience working with Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
Desirable:
Experience with asynchronous programming (asyncio, Celery).
Knowledge of message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka).
Familiarity with GraphQL, gRPC, or WebSockets.
Exposure to data-intensive or AI/ML-based systems architecture.
Relevant certifications in cloud technologies or enterprise architecture (AWS/Azure Architect, TOGAF, etc.)
Location & Working Pattern:
Hybrid role based in Bradford, requiring 3 days per week in the office.
Salary:
Up to £90,000 Basic Per Annum, dependent on experience.
