Role and responsibilities
The successful candidate will undertake research on developing and testing thermomechanical designs. Good communication skills are essential since the successful candidate will work closely with other colleagues and industrial partners.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a PhD (or be near to completion) or equivalent, in engineering, applied mathematics or a related subject area, with a major component in electrical machine design or analysis. More information is available on the Role Profile below.

Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours); fixed term contract for 2 years. Job share arrangements may be considered.
Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.
