Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed professional to join us as a SEN English Teacher. The successful candidate will plan, teach, and assess a range of subjects and learning to support students\' progression, work as part of the team to deliver lessons, support positive behaviour, and create engaging and safe learning environments. We will support you with a full induction as part of a very supportive team.
Unity College is a bespoke educational provision for secondary age students (Y7 - post 16) who are all in the care of the local authority. We operate on two sites, with a main site in West Wycombe and a satellite nurture base in the outskirts of Aylesbury. Classes are small, typically no more than 4 pupils, and we provide specialist vocational spaces, outdoor learning, and strong professional development opportunities. We welcome visits from interested applicants.
Responsibilities
* Plan, teach, and assess a range of subjects and learning to support students\' progression
* Work as part of the team to deliver lessons, support positive behaviour, and make students feel safe so that they can learn and achieve
* Follow whole school systems to teaching and learning; participate in induction and be part of a supportive team
* Support with report writing, help expand curriculum documents as part of a team, data collection, and clearly communicate with all stakeholders
* Create engaging and safe learning environments
Qualifications
* A committed and passionate view of students with SEND
* At least two years\' experience minimum of working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision
* QTS/QTLS is advantageous
