About the Role
Balfour Beatty is proud to be delivering a series of critical infrastructure and construction projects in partnership with Rolls‑Royce, one of the UK’s most iconic and innovative engineering organisations. These works form part of a long‑term project supporting the development, modernisation, and sustainability of Rolls‑Royce’s advanced manufacturing and operational facilities in Derby — a key hub of the UK’s aerospace and nuclear sectors. You’ll be at the forefront of complex, high‑value construction projects within live operational environments, where precision, collaboration, and safety are paramount.
This is a unique chance to work within a highly secure and technically demanding setting, where you’ll manage multidisciplinary teams, engage with senior stakeholders, and ensure that every stage of delivery meets the highest standards of excellence expected by both Balfour Beatty and Rolls‑Royce.
Responsibilities
* Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of large‑scale construction and infrastructure projects within a live Rolls‑Royce operational environment.
* Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, to budget, and in full compliance with Rolls‑Royce and Balfour Beatty governance standards.
* Manage multi‑disciplinary design, engineering, and delivery teams, fostering collaboration and performance excellence.
* Drive project controls, commercial management, risk mitigation, and reporting.
* Build strong relationships with client representatives and key stakeholders at all levels.
* Promote and uphold a culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
* Identify opportunities for innovation, digital delivery, and carbon reduction across the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
* Significant experience leading large‑scale construction or infrastructure projects (preferably within live industrial, defence, or manufacturing environments).
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* A solid understanding of NEC contracts and project governance.
* Demonstrated ability to manage complex interfaces and technical challenges.
* Commitment to collaborative working and continuous improvement.
* A degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Professional membership (e.g. APM, RICS, ICE, CIOB) is desirable.
