The world-famous Tan Hill Inn is Britains highest public house at 1,732 feet (528m), set in stunning scenery above Swaledale between Richmond and Kirkby Stephen. Known internationally, the inn is a popular destination venue welcoming visitors from across the UK and beyond.
Due to its unique rural location, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to work at one of the UKs most iconic hospitality venues, with live-in accommodation available during shifts.
This position would suit someone already experienced in hospitality working in a similar role who is looking for a fresh new challenge.
What we need from you:
* A minimum of 12 months experience working as a Duty Manager within hospitality or in a similar supervisory or management role
* Willingness to support and cover staff shortages at the additional site when required
* Experience managing a team with strong leadership and people-management skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* A genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest service
* The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
* Strong customer service skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* A full UK driving licence is essential
What this role involves:
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the inn. Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Ensuring high standards of customer service and guest experience are consistently delivered
* Handling customer complaints, refunds and negative reviews professionally
* Maintaining strong guest communication and interaction on site
* Developing and managing activity plans to maximise the value of facilities, including working towards agreed KPIs
* Monitoring operational costs and stock control
* Contributing to social media activity and content ideas
* Supporting on-site marketing initiatives to encourage repeat visits
* Ensuring point of sale materials are maintained and merchandise is actively promoted
* Checking guest rooms, communal areas and grounds to ensure they meet agreed cleanliness standards
* Cashing up and ensuring till closures are completed accurately
* Leading and supporting operational teams, including conducting staff appraisals
Salary: £14 £16 per hour
Hours of work:3555 hours per week. Full-time hours between 11am 11pm, including weekends on a rota basis.
