We're looking for a Senior Buyer to join our Purchasing team and play a key role in building a resilient, efficient supply chain. You'll lead sourcing activities, manage supplier performance, and drive cost-control initiatives while ensuring best-in-class procurement practices across the organisation.
What you'll do:
* Conduct supplier audits and assess technical capabilities.
* Manage RFQs for material requirements and NPI projects.
* Negotiate competitive pricing, lead times, and cost reductions.
* Monitor supplier KPIs, SLAs, and compliance with quality standards.
* Source complex components and tooling globally.
* Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.
* Support NPI projects and technical procurement requirements.
* Drive continuous improvement and value-engineering initiatives.
What we're looking for:
* Strong purchasing experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/MRP systems (Dynamics 365 advantageous).
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
* Strong organisational and analytical capability.
Desirable:
* CIPS qualification or working towards it.
* Experience in Automotive, Rail, Aerospace, or Engineered Components sectors.
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes and NPI projects.
