The Governors of Birchgrove Primary School are seeking to appoint an outstanding, highly motivated, conscientious, innovative teacher to join their highly effective team. The post will be based in one of our younger classes. The post is a maternity cover starting in September 2025 and is therefore temporary.
The post is temporary to cover the maternity leave of the permanent post holder and will continue until August 2026, or the resumption/resignation of the permanent post holder, whichever is sooner.
The successful candidate will:
• be an excellent classroom practitioner, or an outstanding NQT, who inspires and leads children to reach their full potential through high quality learning experiences
• have the enthusiasm, energy and ability to motivate, challenge and support others
• demonstrate excellent communication skills to work effectively in partnership with parents, staff, governors and the local community
• have an excellent knowledge and understanding of, pedagogy and curriculum development

• demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively as a highly effective team member
• be adaptable, resourceful and innovative, ready to embrace and lead curriculum change

All teachers appointed to the school will be expected to play a full role in our school. This will include taking part in meetings and supporting extra-curricular activities and events in school.

Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
