Overview
PM Engineer - Chesterfield role at TieTalent. As a Preventative Maintenance Engineer, you will work in conjunction with the controller to maximise the operational availability of equipment for the customer through timely and efficient routine and preventative maintenance servicing and machine inspections. You will identify possible issues that may impact availability and may carry out minor repairs as requested. During this role you will be an ambassador for safety, servicing products in a manner that promotes safety for self and customer.
Responsibilities
* Preventative Maintenance Servicing: carry out routine servicing of equipment in line with manufacturers guidelines, including taking routine oil samples (approximately 75% of the role).
* Machine Inspection: carry out visual and mechanical analysis of machine condition, highlighting developing issues with systems and components (hydraulic, electrical, powertrain, mechanical) (approximately 20%).
* Minor Repairs: complete minor repairs identified during machine inspection, install telematics systems, and carry out undercarriage inspections (approximately 5%).

Requirements and Experience
* Field-based role; drivers must hold a full driving licence for 2 years (eligibility subject to DVLA licence check).
* Working hours: 43 hours per week, Monday – Friday, with 1 Saturday in 3 at overtime rate.
* Basic knowledge of engines, hydraulics, powertrain, and vehicle electrics/electronics relating to servicing and repair of heavy mobile plant (or similar, e.g., HGV).
* Accountability: attend customer locations as advised by the controller, liaise with service controller and customer, ensure work is carried out to high standards and equipment is safe before handing back to customer; complete paperwork accurately and timely, including customer signatures.
* Take proper care of company vehicle and equipment.
* Education and Experience: around 3 years direct experience or related engineering function (e.g., car mechanic, HGV fitter, agricultural engineer, REME, or experience on military vehicles); apprenticeship with at least C&G level 1; health & safety training desirable but not essential; further training provided.
* This position offers training and opportunities to progress into a field service role in the future with development.
