Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Location: Underley Gardens School, Kirkby Lonsdale LA6 2DZ
Salary: Up to £53,200 pro rata (dependent on experience)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, hours to overlap with core school hours. Part-time hours may be considered.
Contract: Permanent (Term time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed based on personal circumstances)

This role supports delivering specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils in an educational setting, with a focus on promoting independence and well-being, and contributing to staff training and consultation as required.

Responsibilities
* Deliver bespoke Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent, or have SEMH needs.
* Work within the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working, guiding practice in an education setting and aligning with governing and professional bodies.
* Hold an Occupational Therapy caseload with support from a designated clinical supervisor and site lead; contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
* Collaborate with education teams to support pupils in developing independence and functional skills.
* Maintain a person-centred, safeguarding-focused approach in all settings.
* Contribute to the development of an enhanced OT offer by supporting apprentices, students and therapy assistants.
Essential Criteria
* Recognised Occupational Therapy degree
* Valid and up-to-date HCPC Registration
* Registered member of RCOT
* Relevant experience in providing OT services within a similar setting is preferable
* Experience with neurodivergent individuals and/or learners with socio-emotional/mental health difficulties; transferable skills
* Sound knowledge of OT theory and practical application to support independence
* Experience of multi-professional work with teams or services within the designated specialty preferred
* Ability to work independently, be flexible and confident
* Clear and concise report writing skills
* Full UK driving licence with access to a car
* Interest in sensory integration or SI-informed practice (training in progress or completed is preferable but not essential)
