At Dechra you will play a key part in improving animal health worldwide.</p><h3>About Dechra</h3><p>Dechra is a global specialist in veterinary pharmaceuticals, developing, manufacturing, marketing, and selling high‑quality products exclusively for veterinarians worldwide.</p><h3>Where Youll Fit In</h3><p>You will join our QC Micro team in Skipton, working closely with the Microbiology Manager and Team Leads in a collaborative environment.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Carry out microbiological testing on raw materials, intermediates, finished products, and the manufacturing environment</li><li>Run a variety of tests including water testing (LAL & membrane filtration), bioburden, environmental monitoring, dispersion testing and more</li><li>Prepare and send samples to external laboratories</li><li>Support validation studies, stability testing, and method transfers</li><li>Maintain laboratory equipment, manage stock, and ensure cleanliness, calibration and compliance</li><li>Investigate deviations or out‑of‑spec results with a curious, analytical mindset</li><li>Collaborate with other departments to keep testing on track</li><li>Train new colleagues and share knowledge of microbiology practices</li><li>Stay current with the latest microbiology developments</li></ul><h3>What Success Looks Like</h3><ul><li>Getting things right the first time</li><li>Working to GMP standards</li><li>Staying organised and meeting agreed timelines</li><li>Being part of a team that values accuracy, communication and reliability</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><h3>Essential</h3><ul><li>Experience in a pharmaceutical GMP QC microbiology laboratory</li><li>Hands‑on experience with microbiological techniques such as LAL, membrane filtration, bioburden testing, environmental monitoring, microscopy, Gram staining and incubation</li><li>Confidence using laboratory equipment and reporting results</li><li>Working knowledge of GMP, health & safety and environmental regulations</li><li>Strong skills in Word and Excel</li><li>A BSc (Hons) in Microbiology or a related scientific field, or equivalent experience</li></ul><h3>Desirable</h3><ul><li>Familiarity with production methods and broader QC processes</li></ul><h3>Benefits</h3><p>We work across a 9‑day fortnight at our Skipton site.
