If yes, this job is for you! (This is not a training post) We in the Hospital @ Night team are looking to recruit either an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or an Advanced Paramedic Practitioner (APP) to join us at the Borders General as an Advanced Care Practitioner (ACP) working 16 hours per week, day/night rotation. Using advanced clinical knowledge and skills, our Advanced Care Practitioners work effectively as senior members of the Hospital at Night service to deliver high quality and clinically effective person-centred care to the inpatients of the BGH. We also cover the Ambulatory Care Clinic during the day working alongside registered nurses and healthcare support workers using a different set of advanced skills. It is an amazing time to join our team as we work through front door redesign which ambulatory care sits. You should be a registered Nurse or Paramedic who has with an MSc or PG Diploma in Advanced Practice, be a registered prescriber with a broad range of knowledge and skills and extensive experience from across specialties. Applicants should understand and have demonstrable knowledge of the demands of working within an acute environment. The successful delivery of safe, effective and efficient person-centred care relies on our Advanced Care Practitioners having transformational leadership qualities, being resilient, being flexible to change, working closely as part of a multidisciplinary team and valuing all members of the Hospital at Night service. Individuals who meet the full requirements of an Advanced Nurse Practitioner will commence/continue on Band 7. Informal enquiries are welcomed, and meeting is encouraged with Alan Milne Clinical Nurse Manager for Unscheduled Care : Alan.milne4@nhs.scot Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check done than is currently the case. If the post is assessed as a "regulated role", your appointment will be subject to joining the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. If there is any change to what is currently required, this will be confirmed by either the Hiring Manager or the Recruitment Team. To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service. For specific types of post, if you do not have the necessary eligibility to work in the UK, it might be possible (though not guaranteed) to secure sponsorship via a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa.
