Overview
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machinery used in the manufacturing/ production area. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. We are a privately owned food supplement manufacturer established 20 years based in Thornton FY5. The company is expanding and looking to increase production capacity so there are vacancies in the manufacturing department.
Duties
* Operate stick pack machine packing powdered food supplements and monitor machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met.
* Set up and adjust programmable machines to meet production specifications.
* Handle materials safely, ensuring proper storage and organisation within the manufacturing/ production environment.
* Conduct regular maintenance checks on equipment to prevent downtime and ensure longevity.
* Collaborate with team members to achieve production targets while maintaining quality standards.
* Assist in assembly tasks as required, ensuring that all components are all correct and available for manufacturing/ production function as intended.
* Operating a machine solo, following 6-8 weeks training with experienced operator.
* Moving between similar machines (same set up, different sizes).
* Drive efficiency and productivity whilst maintaining product quality.

Skills
* Experience with programmable machines is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of manufacturing/ production processes and equipment operation.
* Excellent mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
* Familiarity with hand tools and their proper usage in a manufacturing setting.
* Experience in materials handling within a manufacturing/ production environment is an advantage.
* Ability to work with tooling equipment safely and efficiently.
* Strong basic English/ Maths skills for measurements and calculations related to production tasks/ documentation.

Hours
* 6am – 2pm (morning shift)
* 2pm – 10pm (afternoon shift)
* 10pm – 6am (evening shift)
* Flexibility required
* Overtime available
