Receptionist/Clerical Officer

An exciting opportunity is available for a committed, professional candidate to apply for the post of Receptionist within the Radiology department at Wythenshawe hospital, and our services based at Withington Community Hospital. This will be a rotational role for those interested in working full-time as we expand our services from 8 AM - 8 PM for 7 days a week.
Main duties of the job
* To provide a professional and welcoming reception service for all patients and visitors.
* Deal with enquiries and take accurate messages from patients / visitors and professionals.
* Provide information to visitors or refer onto other sources as appropriate.
* Manage all incoming mail, ensuring timely distribution.
* Attend patients on the Trust IT systems in keeping with departmental and Trust policies.
* Ensure patient confidentiality and correct identification.
* Communicate delays to patients, e.g., room closures or trauma, liaising with clinician staff to make informed decisions.
* Ensure patients are comfortable (e.g., blankets if needed).
* Deal with ambulance bookings (arrivals and departures) ensuring escalation process is followed for long waits.
* Seat patients and visitors in correct waiting areas and notify relevant persons if applicable.
* Handle all telephone enquiries politely and courteously.
* Keep reception area clean, tidy and welcoming.
* Maintain accurate and efficient administrative system for all clinical records and appointments.
* Input data onto the Trust systems and maintain diaries.
* Perform any other administrative duties as required.
* Make appointments as per local policies and procedures.

Person Specification
Education / Qualifications
* GCSE in English & Mathematics or equivalent experience
* Relevant level 2 qualification, such as NVQ or apprenticeship or experience
Experience
* Previous experience working with public in a face to face customer relations role.
* Knowledge of IT systems
* Knowledge of data protection
* Previous experience in health care setting
* Working in confidential environment
