This role is perfect for an educator who wants to use art as a tool to engage students withchallenging behaviour, helping them express themselves and build confidence in a supportive environment.
* Plan and deliver inspiringArt lessons(KS3 & KS4) tailored to students with SEMH needs, using a variety of mediums (drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art, etc.).
* Foster atherapeutic and inclusiveclassroom atmosphere, using art to support emotional regulation and self-expression.
* Manage challenging behaviour with patience, consistency, and a trauma-informed approach.
* Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff to support students’ holistic development.
* Adapt lessons to individual needs, ensuring all students can access and enjoy art, regardless of prior experience.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)or relevant teaching experience in the UK.
* Experience teachingArtat secondary level, ideally withinSEMH, PRUs, or alternative provision.
* Strongbehaviour management skillsand the ability to engage disaffected learners through creativity.
* A nurturing yet resilient approach, with a passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
* Flexibility to tailor lessons to students’ interests and emotional needs.
* Adedicated, multidisciplinary teamfocused on student wellbeing and progress.
* Small class sizeswith high staff support, allowing for meaningful engagement.

* Ongoing trainingin SEMH strategies, safeguarding, and therapeutic approaches.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
