The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Secretary to join our busy and dynamic Dispute Resolution department. This full-time role is integral to the smooth running of a team of 6–8 fee earners, providing high-quality secretarial and administrative support to ensure our clients receive an efficient, friendly, and professional service.
Please note: This role requires a minimum of 2 years’ secretarial experience in a legal or professional services environment. It is not suitable for recent graduates or entry-level applicants.
Key Responsibilities
* Acting as the first point of contact for new client enquiries, presenting the firm professionally and gathering relevant information
* Diary management including booking appointments, meetings, and managing key dates and deadlines
* File administration including opening, maintaining, and closing files, and ensuring anti-money laundering compliance
* Supporting civil litigation processes including online filing and preparing trial bundles
* Typing digital dictations and working with precedent letters
* Ensuring compliance with firm systems and procedures, and assisting team members with system use
* Billing and accounts administration including producing invoices, tracking fee income, and liaising with the Accounts team
* Supporting business development activities including logging enquiries and analysing conversion rates
What We’re Looking For
* Excellent administrative and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workloads and prioritise effectively
* Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with practice management systems and digital dictation is desirable
* Familiarity with anti-money laundering requirements and civil litigation processes
* A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Excellent client service and communication skills, with a professional and friendly manner
* Good commercial awareness and understanding of the importance of efficiency, compliance, and quality in delivering legal services
